At Parktown Hospital we try to carter for all patients despite the difference of level of sickness, we have medical admission wards. Most patients are admitted to us from accident and emergency (A&E). Once patients are stable, they are generally transferred to a more appropriate ward or can be discharged if they are well enough to go home. Our wards include:

We have observation and Assessment wards

We have male wards and female wards. They allow patients to be observed on a short-term basis and permit patient monitoring.

Pediatric Care Unit

We understand that nothing is more important to you than your child’s health and wellness, thats why we have a pediatric unit. Our pediatric specialists not only treat your precious little ones in times of emergency but they also help you with signs that you as a parent should watch for, advice, as well as recommendations. Health tips and insights to help your child leave a healthier life such as; Diet advice, vaccines, growth and development issues, common childhood disease, inherited disorders and more

We also have H.D.U (High Dependency Unit)

Wards for people who need more intensive observation, treatment and nursing care than is possible in a general ward but slightly less than that given in intensive care unit. Patients in this ward are cared for more extremely than on a normal ward but not to the point of intensive care.

Intensive care unit (ICU) is in Progress

Generally reserved for the sickest people, those who require close nursing supervision, or those who require a ventilator to help them breathe.
